Quality and safety are of particular importance when it comes to food packaging. This is why the production of inks for this market is subject to special regulations – it needs to meet the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for the production of food packaging. Therefore, we are proud to announce that our site in Almere, Netherlands, is certified to manufacture low migration and low odour (MGA) sheetfed inks for food packaging since July 2019. To receive this certification, we made various adjustments to our production environment and established full traceability of all ink components. Additionally, we ensured that all potential migration components with a concentration above 0.01% are suitable for food contact.

“To guarantee highest quality, we have not only invested in our production environment, but also trained employees for manufacturing according to GMP and conducted a FMEA, a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis”, explains Jörgen Rietveld, Sales Director of SF/UV North West Europe at hubergroup. “I’m very excited that we can now also supply our commercial and packaging customers with MGA inks produced in the Netherlands and offer an even better service to them.”
