LMAI 2019: India’s label industry on the rise
Two and a half days full of informative sessions and interesting talks – that’s what made this year’s LMAI (Label Manufacturers Association of India) Conference special. From July 25 to 28, 500 delegates and 32 sponsors met in Kochi, India, to talk about the motto “Future Next” and made the event the biggest conference ever in India’s label industry. The success of the event is not surprising, though, as the label printing segment in India has grown by 12 to 15 % compared to last year and is expected to continue to grow.
The conference offered various interesting presentations and discussions about trends and sustainability. One of the highlights was a panel discussion with printing house directors discussing the future of the label industry and the challenges they are facing to fulfil demands and technical requirements. Rajeev Ranjan, hubergroup’s Head of Sales for Northern India recounts: “For us, the conference was a great opportunity to stay up to date about new developments and technologies such as the flexo digital combination. We gained many new inspirations, and it was great to meet many top customers and exchange ideas with them.”
Pratip Dey, Business Head of Labels and Water Based Inks at hubergroup, adds: “Last but not least, the speech by Guru Gaur Gopal Das about the ´Secrets of Impactful Success’ was a highlight of the event and very inspiring.”
